As we grow in our faith, we will notice changes throughout our lives that will influence us on how we should live and make decision.
I am sharing this because of my personal experience; though, there are lots of ways on how we express faith, but for me, it will start in surrendering, and of course a simple prayer will help a lot, as it is the only communication we have to draw nearer to Him.
There was this one situation that God really tested how far my faith will stand through tough times and in making decision. It’s difficult to stand in your belief especially when you are “running out of time”, you won’t consider waiting as an option. It sounds like grabbing a thing that is not useful but you don’t have any choice because you need to have something to put in your hand.
But, always having His word in your pocket really helps, it will remind you that it is just a test. Sometimes we need to let go of the things that what we thought is better for us, because behind our minds, we know that His plans will always be perfect than ours. Let us practice to surrender all our worries to Him.
God doesn’t want us to have a temporary happiness because of our own choices. He wants us to have an abiding joy that’s why He keeps on whispering to us to trust Him, hence, it is very important to seek and listen to his voice.
A lot of things happened before that day ended, but I know the answer was from Him as I felt the relief, and all I can say is “Lord, thank you is not good enough”.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9
It actually works in our everyday lives as well, not only on a “special” situation. There are lots of things that we might encounter which will affect our day, - a simple misunderstanding with your boss or colleague, pending works or anything that we thought we are the looser in the four corners of the room; but His grace is always sufficient to cover our weaknesses. Whisper a simple prayer and He will calm your heart.
God will not give us challenges that we will not overcome. He just wanted us to be stronger than what we are now. I know it’s not easy to grasp especially on our weakest point, I, myself still have difficulties on dealing with my every day encounters. But I know and I believe that this is how it works. Every time I am having this difficulties, I always keep my life verse in my mind – Matthew 6:33-34.
I know I still have a lot to strive in my journey, but I really thank God that He also gave me people who are walking with me in my faith story – my friends and most especially my family. No man is an island. As the saying goes on “if one burning coal is removed, the rest will be affected of the lost heat and will fade its enthusiasm in continuing the fire”.
Lets keep our fire burning.
